OUR HISTORY
The formation of Malaysian Association of Cell and Tissue Banking (MACTB) was decided during a meeting held on the 7th October 2008 at Tissue Bank Unit, School of Medical Sciences, Health Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. The founding members include Dato’ Dr. Hasim Mohamad, Profesor Dr. Ahmad Sukari Halim, Dr. Suzina Sheikh Ab Hamid, Dr. Azlina Amir Abbas, Dr. Norimah Yusof, Dr. Azura Mansor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunku Kamarul Zaman Tunku Zainol Abidin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hafiz Zulkifly, Dr. Rosdan Salim, Dr. Ahmad Mat Saat, Dr. Saadon Ibrahim and Dr. Ahmad Tajuddin Abdullah. The Registry of Societies of Malaysia had accepted the registration of MACTB on 15th October 2009 and Dato’ Dr. Hasim Mohamad was the first president.
OUR OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this society is to enhance the local scientific and technical knowledge and skill in the field of Cell and Tissue Banking, Cell and Tissue Transplantation, Cell and Tissue Irradiation and Tissue Engineering, through education, research and dissemination of relevant and beneficial information to members and the general public.
It is also the purpose of the society to establish linkages with other scientific and technical organisations globally in dissemination and exchange of information in sharing latest development and advancement of Cell and Tissue Banking.
